Fragrance of a Crush by Kitso Kgaboesele

I long for your voice all over my skin

pirouetting around you.

Tip toes around the fold of your name,

careful leaps as my spirit lunges towards you
who does not even know that you have awakened my inner phantoms

calling each one by name.

Around a hedge daisies,

on a tree trunk, beneath a bed of foliage and deep within the forest

there are secrets

Where the past had fossilised itself, unmoveable, unshakeable

until you smiled.

A future; a concoction of dreams, desire and maybe a bit of luck,

Listen to the falling rain.
