Cynthia Dewi Oka is a poet and author of the poetry collection Nomad of Salt and Hard Water (Dinah Press, 2012). An alumnus of the Voices of Our Nations (VONA) Writing Workshop, her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Black Renaissance Noire, Terrain.org, Fifth Wednesday, As/Us Journal, Apogee Journal, Kalyani Magazine, JMWW Magazine, Briarpatch Magazine, Ozone Park JournalBoxcar Poetry Review, as well as the anthologies Read Women (Locked Horn Press, 2014) and Dismantle: An Anthology of Writing from the VONA/Voices Writers’ Workshop (Thread Makes Blanket, 2014). She is a 2014 artist grant recipient from the Vermont Studio Center and currently serving as the Poetry Editor of Generations Literary Journal. Born and raised in Bali, Indonesia, she now lives in New Jersey.
